to whom it may concern- NASA has reorganized there web site, and the images i think this tut was meant to direct artist too has been moved to here: [link] and is that 400 meant to be 4,000?

If you look closely, this is actually a tutorial in Photoshop. It describes how to create maps for planets in 3ds Max. If you change the maps to square ones (4000x4000 pixels for example) and use the spherize filter in Photoshop on them, you can adapt this technique to Photoshop only. ;)

I was only wondering because there are tabs for the layers that I don't have on my version of photoshop

when i up the contrast to 100 i dont get something like that. its still smokey, but if i do it again i get everything turning white. what do i do O.o?
