Not bad man. I like the moon in the rings. But if that moon had been there for some time it would have cleared out an entire area through out the entire ring. Saturns rings have spaces in them from moons.

Thanks man. :) Lets see, how can I talk me out of this problem... :D OK, it goes like this: The moon rotates slightly slower than the rings, that way the particles in the rings close the gap over time, till the moon comes their way again. :D :D Don't know if that would work, but I stand by it. ;)

wow awesome piece. Love the full frontal of the rings. Very interesting small detail you got there --- the moon cutting through the ring. Very cool! Nice work!

I bet that small moon is rotating anti-clockwise ;) great peice...though I'm not sure if orange rings suits a blue planet, but nice work from a technical skill point of view at least :D

It has to I guess, don't know if it's possible that the moon would rotate slower than the particles in the ring. ;) Thanks :)

Fantastic piece mate, love how the rings turned out and how the background looks, realistic and serene. The moon ripping a rift in the asteroid belt is a unique and well executed touch as well. Though I'd make the "noise" close to the moon a bit sharper though. The blurriness I guess would be realistic - the rocks would bounce back and forth creating a variance in thickness and a sense of opacity, I however think it'd look better a bit sharper and harsher. It looks a bit too much like lazy work with the liquify tool (sorry). I do love how the rough pattern turns into a straight perfect rift though!

And as usual the planet is top notch! I wish I could make them as detailed and realistic as you manage. Great work Frieso!

Thanks a lot. :) I'm glad you like it. Thanks for the critique as well. The ripples in the rings were a bit difficult, since this piece is 3d I had to create almost the same effect on the color map and the opacity map. So I went with a simple effect, because they had to match otherwise it would have looked really bad. :D
