I felt like hunching looking at this. Like the feeling of that vast stone roof would come crumbling down. Get the same sensation in caves sometimes, heh.

Hey, vielen Dank.

Judging from your other work, I'd say that 'epic' is the word to describe your work. Its absolutely incredible. I'm a huge fan. I have such trouble with create environments for my characters to live in, so this is really inspiring. Totally diggin' it :)

Thanks man. Epic, I like that ... a lot. And thanks for leaving a comment as well and not doing the ninja-stealth-fave-and-leave-it-at-that. :)

Fab. I like the feel/perspective of being under something very large, but still having space below and all around, as well as light.

Thanks a lot for liking it. :) Just don't ask me about the physics of it all. :D

I've sometimes thought about doing a "double horizon" surreal kind of scene like this. I think the colour and lighting scheme here does this unique kind of scene justice, and a sense of scale 8-)

Hey, you are THE constant on DA for me. Thanks man, I really appreciate it. Yeah the double horizon thingie kinda happened by accident. Flipped the original render, liked what I saw and went with it. The rest followed piece by piece. Even the lighting is more or less the result of changing colors a lot. A whole damn lot. :D Wish I'd waited for the original render in bigger size though. That was a bit unfortunate. I rendered this landscape in vue in HD, took that render to try my ideas and was captured in the process. So no bigger resolution. Still love it.

When I find something I like to stick to it for dear life :cling: As long as dA isn't going anywhere, I can't see why I would. Though in my really tired state I was close to not commenting this time. Lucky for you it was the only thing in my watchlist ;p

I noticed Vue isn't too bad when it comes to rendering terrain-only scenes. But I dread rendering anything with clouds or water in it in high-res. Seems to take forever. Often I have to render certain areas at a time and compose them together in Photoshop (this doe however come with the advantage of making it easier to layer things for the sake of editing later though, so it's not all bad)

Yeah the render engine in Vue is a real pain. Add water or really good looking (the bad looking clouds work faster) and it's downright unusable. So I get it. A lot in this picture happened during postwork and composition in Photoshop. I brought it down to about 40 Layers in the end. Anyway, have a good night and till next time. :)
